This policy sets out the criteria and procedures for admitting children to Ladels Day Nursery, ensuring that the process is:
Purpose

- Fair
- Fully compliant with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework
Capacity and Age Range
At Ladels Day Nursery, we are registered to care for 62 children, aged 3 months to 4 years.
All admissions are managed in line with:
- EYFS legal space requirements
- Staff-to-child ratios
This ensures the highest standards of care, learning, and safety for every child.
Admissions Criteria
Places are allocated according to the following order of priority:
- Looked after children – those in the care of the local authority
- Children with SEND – where needs can be appropriately supported in our setting
- Vulnerable children – including those on a Child Protection Plan, Child in Need Plan, or in receipt of other local authority support
- Siblings – of children already attending Ladels Day Nursery
- Local children – living within the immediate surrounding area
Additional Notes
Where requested, full-time places may be prioritised over part-time requests, depending on:
- Room availability
- Staffing capacity
- Operational needs
A waiting list is maintained and reviewed regularly. Places are offered based on:
- Availability
- Priority criteria above
