Welcome to Our Policies & Procedures

At Ladels Day Nursery, our policies are here to keep every child safe, happy, and thriving.

They set out clear expectations for families and staff, so that we can work together in partnership to provide the very best care and learning opportunities.

Policies also ensure that we meet the highest standards set by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and other legal requirements

Staff Pledge – Ladels Day Nursery

Putting Children First

At Ladels, children’s safety, welfare, and development always come first. Every decision we make and every action we take must reflect this.

Staff are expected to be caring role models and treat all children equally with dignity and respect. By prioritising children’s needs, we create a nurturing and safe environment.

Professional Conduct

We are committed to maintaining professionalism at all times. This means respecting confidentiality, following nursery policies, and safeguarding the nursery’s reputation.

Relationships with parents must stay professional, and boundaries must be upheld. Staff represent the values of Ladels both inside and outside the nursery.

Monitoring & Accountability

Our behaviours are monitored to ensure we remain suitable to work with children. Regular peer observations, supervisions, and appraisals help us reflect and improve.

A whistleblowing policy protects staff who raise concerns about colleagues. By holding each other accountable, we safeguard children and support one another.

Responding to Concerns

Any changes in behaviour, attendance, or professionalism will be addressed immediately. Concerns may lead to supportive measures, but safeguarding children will always take priority. If allegations are made, procedures involving the LADO (Local Authority Designated Officer) will be followed. All actions and outcomes are recorded confidentially.

Staff Safeguarding Commitment

Every staff member has a duty to protect children from harm. This includes recognising signs of abuse, radicalisation, or neglect, and responding in line with our Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy. Concerns must be reported quickly and correctly to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or Deputy DSL. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and by working together we keep our children safe.
