Our Story: A Dream Realized

Ladel’s Day Nursery began with a dream in 2003. Founded by Maizie, a devoted mother and early childhood educator, the nursery grew from her vision of a space where children feel as safe and loved as they do at home. With a degree in Early Childhood Education and years of experience, Maizie created Ladel’s Day Nursery to nurture young lives in ways that inspire joy, curiosity, and growth.

Over the years, families from Thornton Heath, Surrey, and beyond have joined our nursery community. While we’ve grown, our core values have remained steadfast: providing a loving, inclusive environment where every child can learn, explore, and simply be themselves.

At Ladel’s Day Nursery, children step into a space designed just for them. Spanning over 2000 square meters, our nursery is a welcoming blend of cozy indoor areas and open outdoor spaces, perfect for discovery and play.

Guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, we embrace a balanced blend of structured learning and child-led play, allowing each child to develop at their own pace. Whether painting, storytelling, or building, we empower children to choose activities that resonate with them and reflect who they are.

We also love celebrating each child’s unique cultural background and enjoy collaborating with parents on activities, songs, and even recipes from home, bringing a rich diversity to our community.

At Ladel’s, we’re more than a team—we’re a family. Our staff members are passionate, highly qualified, and many have been with us for years. Every child is known by name and personality, and each is paired with a Key Person who provides personalized care, comfort, and support. The bonds between our caregivers and children create a warm, secure environment that makes nursery life a positive experience for everyone.
